Wednesday of Challenge

Today I am going to do something different! I am doing lots of cards and cutting like a mad girl, lol! But I will share that on Saturday! So, today is the first time I will challenge you to share with me a Holiay RECIPE!! You can just type in the comments or if you have a layout or a recipe book with it you can show it that way too!! This challenge was inspired by my girls! They want to try new recipes and I start researching the internet! ohhhhhh everything look sooo yummo that I thought it was a good idea to get some recipes from you!

Hope to read your best cookie recipe. I will try to do them as soon as I can!! I love to try new cookies recipes! (but you can share any other recipe for the Holidays as well!)

Peanut Butter Balls

Easy Sweet Rolls
2 loaves frozen bread
1/2 c. melted butter
1 c. brown sugar
cinnamon, to taste
1 carton whipping cream

thaw frozen bread and combine (if thawed in fridge overnight - bring to room temperature). Roll into rectangular shape 1/4 inch thick. Spread butter over dough then spread brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll and slice into 1 inch pieces. Place in 9 X 13 greased pan. Pour cream over top. Let rise until double, bake 20-25 minutes in 350 oven. Let set in pan 10 minutes, then invert over large platter.

Chocolate Chip Brownies
2 tubes (18 oz. each) refrigerated choc. chip cookie dough (or use 4 and 1/2 c. of your favorite choc. chip cookie dough recipe).
3/4 c. flaked coconut, divided
1 package brownie mix (8X8 pan size)
1/2 c. semisweet choc. chips
1/2 c. chopped pecans

Press cookie dough into greased 13X9 pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 c. coconut and press firmly into dough.

Prepare brownie mix according to package directions. spread batter over coconut. sprinkle with remaining coconut; top with choc. chips and pecans. Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean (editorial note: which is tricky since you have melted choc. chips). Cool on a wire rack

andWhite Velvet Cutouts

2 c. butter or margarine, softened
1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
2 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla extract
4-1/2 c. all-purpose flour

Butter Cream frosting:
3-1/2 c. powdered sugar, divided
3 tbsp. butter or margarine, softened
1 tbsp. shortening
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
3-4 tbsp. milk, divided
red and/or green food coloring, optional

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and cream cheese until light and
fluffy. Add sugar, egg yolks and vanilla; mix well. Gradually add
flour. Cover and chill 2 hours or until firm. Roll out on a floured
surface to 1/4" thickness. Cut into shapes and place 1 in. apart on
baking sheets. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes or until set (not
browned). Cool 5 minutes, remove to wire racks to cook. For
frosting, combine 1-1/2 c. powdered sugar, butter, shortening,
vanilla and 3 tbsp. milk in a mixing bowl; beat until smooth.
Gradually add remaining sugar; beat until light and fluffy - about 3
minutes. Add enough remaining milk and food coloring until frosting
reaches desired consistency. Frost cookies. Yield: approx. 7 dozen.
